Government departments and agencies have until EOFY to comply with Hosting Certification Framework

“Government data at rest and in motion will now be exclusively within Australia,” Minister Stuart Robert said in a speech this week.

All Federal Government departments and agencies have until 30 June 2022 to comply with the Hosting Certification Framework.

“All citizen data will be stored in certified data centres within Australia and any cloud provided data will be served by certified cloud providers in certified data centres within Australia. Likewise, all data that is moved (routed) must be routed within Australia …

“All State and Territory digital and data ministers have been told that this is the direction of the Federal Government and for data sharing to continue this will become a requirement of the States and Territories going forward.”
