The Uptime Institute, a Global data centre research, and certification body focused on improving data centre performance and efficiency, has certified the new Australian Data Centres Facility in Canberra as Australia’s newest Tier III Data Centre.
The ADC Facility is the only Data Centre in the ACT that meets this standard, and joins a select group of Data Centres around the Globe that are certified as meeting this international benchmark. The Uptime Institute operates in over 60 countries around the world.
“ADC’s data centre was designed around the highest levels of mechanical and electrical redundancy to achieve this Tier III certification. Many data centres may state a Tier III capability but only a handful in Australia are formally certified as complying with this global standard”, said Rob Kelly, ADC’s Managing Director.
The Australian Data Centre facility was recently announced on the Federal Government’s Data Centre Facilities Supplies Panel.
Megan James, ADC Commercial Director, said “ADC is fully operational and provides the most sophisticated data centre offering in the ACT. The certification of Uptime Tier III is a formal and independent validation of the quality of the ADC offer. The combination of our Tier III infrastructure and our flexible delivery model provides our customers with the opportunity to customise their Data Centre environment, to suit their technology of choice, and be assured of the robustness and reliability of the environment in which it is operating”.
