Facility features

Designed to Tier 3+ standards, the data centre has a typical availability rating of 99.98%. The facility is modular in design and construction, complete with both primary and redundant critical components and distribution paths for power and air conditioning services to IT equipment.

The initial availability of technical space is 3000m2. All major systems and pathways are concurrently maintainable, therefore critical UPS, diesel generator and air conditioning support will still be available to IT equipment while maintenance is carried out on other pathways and critical components.

The data suites are designed to meet specific requirements with customised solutions in size, power availability and cooling. The Australian Data Centres model is carrier and services neutral allowing flexibility for business requirements. The data suites are

designed to a minimum of 1000 watts of power (and cooling) per square metre.

Location

Australian Data Centres has designed a highly sophisticated data centre in Mitchell, located 10kms from the CBD and approximately 14kms from Canberra International Airport. Strategic placement has ensured it is not in an area susceptible to natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods. It is distanced from heavy industrial and potential threat sites. The data centre is close to public transport; it is accessible by regular bus routes and major freeways.

Fibre

The data centre is adjacent to major fibre routes and has access to all major carriers.
